Fayetteville Youth Dental Program provides care to children: 5 things to know

Dentists participating in Fayetteville (Ark.) Youth Dental Program are providing care for children in the community, according to Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette.

Here are five things to know:

1. Altrusa Club of Fayetteville, Fayetteville School District and local dentists established the Fayetteville Youth Dental Program more than 50 years ago.

2. Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation provides a grant for the program.

3. Through the program, dentists provide care from September through May.

4. Volunteers provide each for nearly a dozen patients at each clinic.

5. Students who are from low-income families and are referred by nurses, principals or teachers are eligible for services.
