Brian Bui, DDS, used his dentistry business to obtain at least two Paycheck Protection Program loans by submitting false application paperwork, including documentation and lying about the business’ number of employees and monthly payroll expenses. This led to Dr. Bui obtaining approximately $1.89 million in loans from the Small Business Administration under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, according to a Nov. 18 news release from the Justice Department.

Dr. Bui faces up to 30 years in federal prison.
