With the help of former NASA astronaut Cady Coleman, PhD, Colgate will work toward developing advanced and sustainable products to improve the oral and skin health of astronauts and then making use of the innovations on Earth. Dr. Coleman, who conducted experiments while aboard the International Space Station, signed on as a strategic advisor to Colgate’s microgravity research.
The research will explore how oral bacteria and skin behave in space. Colgate previously participated in research with NASA and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine and College of Engineering to study the growth and treatment of oral bacteria in space.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
