Delta Dental Foundation to grant 5 dentists $25k to serve underserved areas: 5 things to know

Five dental school graduates are making their way to provide care to residents in underserved communities.

Here are five things to know:

1. Due to their commitment, Delta Dental Foundation will grant the graduates a $25,000 award.

2. Students hail from University of Detroit Mercy, Cleveland-based Case Western Reserve University, Indiana University in Bloomington, Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan and Ohio State University in Columbus.

3. Delta Dental Foundation created its Community Commitment Award based off of the Patrick P. Gribben Jr. Community Commitment Award, in honor of Patrick P. Gribben Jr. who previously served as Delta Dental Foundation’s president.

4. Per the award, students must practice in the state in which they attended school for at least on year.

5. Awardees received the donation due to their work ethic, desire to serve in underprivileged areas and leadership skills.
