A female sales representative filed a complaint with the company’s human resources department, claiming that she was being discriminated against by her manager because of her sex, according to a May 8 EEOC news release.

Less than one day later, Dental Health Products allegedly fired the sales representative, which was an act of retaliation and a violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the commission alleged.

In addition to the settlement payment, Dental Health Products must adopt a written policy against discrimination in the workplace and provide training to all current employees on Title VII, the release said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
