Ultradent to be acquired by Japanese manufacturing company for $900M

Japanese chemical manufacturer Mitsui Chemicals plans to acquire South Jordan, Utah-based Ultradent for $900 million.

Mitsui’s U.S. subsidiary will acquire Ultradent through a new holding company, according to a June 12 news release. The deal aims to expand the company’s footprint in the U.S. dental market and strengthen its Life & Healthcare Solutions business.

The announcement comes shortly after Ultradent acquired Azena Medical, a dental laser manufacturer.
