Danaher to acquire dental implant maker Nobel Biocare for $2.2B

 
Danaher plans to acquire Nobel Biocare, a dental implant maker based in Switzerland, in a deal that values Nobel Biocare at approximately $2.2 billion, according to a report by The New York Times.

Nobel Biocare will operate as a standalone company within Danaher’s dental business and keep its own brand identity. The deal includes the assumption of debt and is expected to enhance Danahar’s standing in the global dentistry industry. The offer is expected to be completed late this year or in early 2015.

Danaher provides technology products and services to a variety of sectors, including healthcare. Nobel Biocare, a provider of dental implants, prosthetics and dental software, operates in 80 global markets, according to the report.
