High Point U, Atrium Health partner to provide oral care to cancer patients

High Point (N.C.) University Workman School of Dental Medicine partnered with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center to expand oral care for patients receiving radiation or chemotherapy cancer treatment.

The program provides care for issues caused by cancer treatments, such as mouth sores, jaw stiffness, changes in taste, dry mouth and infections, according to a May 23 news release from the university.  

The partnership and program began in early May.
