Align Technology to acquire 3D printing company

Align Technology has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Cubicure, a 3D printing company based in Vienna.

The acquisition of Cubicure will expand Align’s printing, materials and manufacturing capabilities for its orthodontic 3D products, according to a Sept. 6 news release from Align.

Align and Cubicure have had a partnership for several years, with the companies first working together through a joint development program. 

The purchase price is approximately $84.5 million. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2023 or the beginning of 2024, the release said.
