Temple U dental school opens digital dental lab

Philadelphia-based Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry opened a 1,000-square-foot digital dental lab.

The school invested more than $4 million into the lab, which includes 30 digital simulators that allow students to work on 3D teeth, according to a Sept. 18 news release from the university. 

The dental school provides care to more than 30,000 patients each year. The new lab will improve accuracy and service while reducing costs for patients, Amid Ismail, dean of the dental school, said in the release. 

The lab officially opened back in May, the release said.
