Overjet gets FDA clearance for AI cavity detection software

Dental technology company Overjet received FDA 510(k) clearance for its artificial intelligence-powered cavity detection and outlining software, Caries Assist.

The software allows dentists to more accurately detect cavities and reduce the rate of false negatives, according to a May 16 Overjet news release.

The FDA clearance follows the 2021 clearance of Overjet’s Dental Assist, which measures bone levels in X-rays where periodontal disease is present.
