The partnership aims to improve the oral health of patients because poor oral health, gingivitis and periodontal disease are correlated to diabetes, according to an Aug. 23 news release.
The TeleDentists consists of a national network of dentists that provide virtual diagnoses for patients and arrange appointments with local dental offices for patients when needed. Patients will now be able to get tested for diabetes while visiting the dentist and can be connected to a telehealth team member if the test results need further attention.
