3D anatomical software gets FDA nod: 4 things to know

Dental artificial intelligence company Relu received 501(k) FDA clearance, allowing for the commercial distribution for the Relu Creator, according to an Oct. 1 news release.

Here are four things to know:

1. Relu Creator enables the user to create a 3D anatomical model of a patient in a few minutes. 

2. The program utilizes AI to produce automated anatomical identification and improved 3D imaging for treatment planning, boosting precision and efficiency of dental procedures. 

3. The company also received CE Mark approval by the EU Notified Body.

4. Relu, based in Belgium, recently expanded into the U.S. by opening an office in Boston.
