Velmeni for Dentists analyzes and annotates dental X-rays, assisting dentists in the detection of cavities, fillings, restorations, fixed prostheses and implants in digital bitewing, periapical and panoramic radiographs, according to a Sept. 4 news release.
The program is the first dental AI approved by the FDA to detect pathologies in panoramic X-rays.
More than 1,300 dentists participated in Velmeni’s beta program, with 90% saying they would adopt Velmeni for Dentists in their practice, the release said.
