In a pilot study at DentaQuest affiliate practices in one state, 30 percent of patients who received care through teledentistry did not need an in-person follow up appointment, according to an Aug. 1 news release shared with Becker’s.

Through the partnership, DentaQuest plans to have 24/7 dental services available to both Medicaid and commercial plan members in 20 states. The service is already active for Medicaid and CHIP members in states including Arizona and New Hampshire.

Teledentistry allows patients to speak with a licensed dentist, as well as receive treatment and oral health education.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
