Americans value oral health over friendships: 5 quick facts

Americans regard oral health as most important to their lives, according to a Delta Dental survey.

Here are five quick facts.

1. Of survey respondents, 85 percent said oral health was most important to their lives. However, only 67 percent said having good oral health makes them feel confident on a daily basis.

2. Seventy-one percent of Americans found diet or nutrition to be the second most important.

3. Oral health was found to be more important that relationships with friends as 71 percent said friendships were most important.

4. While obesity is on the rise, 71 percent said weight was most important.

5. Although 25 percent of Americans are extremely satisfied with their oral health, only 15 percent would rate their current oral health as excellent.
