Average out-of-pocket cost for a visit to the dentist in each state

The average out-of-pocket cost to visit a dentist in Alaska is $153.74, the highest of any state, according to data from personal finance website WalletHub.

The data was collected as part of the site's "2023's Best & Worst States for Health Care" ranking, which was published July 31.  

Here is the annual average out-of-pocket cost for dental visits by state:
