Number of US dental school graduates up 1.2% over 2021

There were 6,745 graduates from U.S. dental schools in 2022, a slight increase over the number of 2021 graduates, according to data from the American Dental Association.

The figure marks a 1.2% increase compared to 6,665 dental school graduates in 2021. 

There were 3,569 female graduates in 2022, also a small jump from 2021’s 3,436 female graduates. 

While the number of female graduates increased from 2021 to 2022, the number of male graduates dropped slightly from 3,223 in 2021 to 3,159 in 2022. 

The total number of graduates from U.S. dental schools has increased each year since 2012, according to the data.
