The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor was ranked as the top dental school in the U.S. for the fourth consecutive year, according to QS World’s University Rankings.

The university dropped to fourth in the world after coming in first in 2025, 2024 and 2023

Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, the University of Hong Kong in China and Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam in the Netherlands earned the top three spots in QS World’s University Rankings.

The rankings compare schools across five categories: academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper, H-index, which measures productivity and impact of academics and departments, and international research network. Read more on the methodology here.
