Denver Health Family Health Center in Montbello is integrating dental and medical care by offering vaccinations for children during their dental appointments, Fox affiliate KDVR reported May 11.
The center started integrating care as a pilot program during the pandemic. To improve vaccination rates, Denver Health providers began offering vaccines during dental visits.
Through Denver Health's integrated system, the computer flags when a child is due for a vaccination and staff can offer it to the child's family.
Denver Health plans to expand the program to its other dental offices soon, KDVR reported.
