ADA revises CERP standards: 4 notes

The American Dental Association Commission for Continuing Education Provider Recognition has revised its accreditation standards.

Four notes: 

1. The new framework decreases the number of standards from 14 to five. The number of individual criteria a provider must meet was also reduced from 104 to 17. 

2. The organization also adopted the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education’s Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education, according to a Jan. 6 news release shared with Becker’s.

3. The new standards will take effect June 1, 2026. 

4. The ADA CERP application will be revised to reflect the new standards and will be released in January 2027.
