Federal and state health officials have been investigating a tuberculosis outbreak connected to recalled human bone tissue products sold to hospitals, surgical centers and dental clinics.
The tuberculosis cases are linked to Aziyo Biologics’ viable bone matrix products, which were recalled in July after two patients treated with a viable bone matrix product made from one donor lot contracted tuberculosis. The lot was sent to hospitals, surgical centers and dental clinics across California, Louisiana, Michigan, New York, Oregon, Texas and Virginia.
