Dentsply Sirona and Siemens Healthineers have received FDA clearance for the first-of-its-kind dental-dedicated MRI in the U.S.
The MAGNETOM Free.Max Dental Edition earned FDA clearance following a clinical trial validating its use across several dental specialties, including endodontics, periodontics, TMJ treatment, tooth extractions and orthodontics.
The technology is designed to complement intraoral, panoramic and CBCT imaging with its ability to examine soft tissues, according to a March 9 news release. It is primarily intended for use in hospitals, large clinics and universities.
