Las Vegas dental practice debuts 3D printing system

Dee for Dentist, based in Las Vegas, became the first Western U.S. dental practice to use the Primeprint 3D Printing System by Dentsply Sirona, the first medical grade 3D printer for dentistry.

The FDA-approved technology can create temporary teeth, dentures, night guards, digital wax-ups, custom impression trays, surgical guides and dental models, according to an Aug. 2 news release shared with Becker’s.

The system provides an automated alternative to chairside 3D printing and reduces human error, wasted materials and time spent on technician training, the release said.
