Dentist, oral surgeon receive FDA clearance for square dental implant

A Colorado dentist and oral and maxillofacial surgeon recently received FDA clearance for a square dental implant that could help improve patient experience, The Gazette reported Dec. 27.

James Grant, DDS, and Brad Renehan, DDS, MD, of Colorado Springs, began developing Proximerge 2 after Dr. Grant heard from a patient in 2007 about food getting caught around her molar implants. 

Quadric BioMed, the dentists’ company, received FDA clearance for the fifth iteration of the implant in October

Dr. Renehan and Dr. Grant are preparing to begin a clinical study for the implant.
