The scanning and milling device being used by the 49th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron dental clinic utilizes CAD and CAM software to perform same-day dental crowns and other intraoral device procedures, according to a March 24 news release.

By using the machine and software program, the clinic is able to perform procedures with more efficiency and accuracy.

With the new technology, airmen are able to receive dental care and return to deployment status on the same day, the release said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
