7 dental technology updates in March

From a class-action lawsuit to robotic dental implant milestones, here are seven dental technology updates to know that Becker’s reported on in March.

  1. Dental AI and software companies Overjet and CareStack introduced the Smart Dental Platform, allowing dental practices and DSOs to improve patient care and operational efficiency. 
  2. Dental laser company Sonendo brought in $31.7 million in total revenue in 2024.
  3. Dental technology company 3Shape introduced TRIOS 6, its newest intraoral scanner. 
  4. Dental AI company Pearl and dental 3D intraoral scanner provider Medit entered into a partnership.
  5. A proposed class-action lawsuit was filed against Dentsply Sirona and Byte, alleging breaches of contract and implied warranty, false advertising and deceptive practices.
  6. Angelalign Technology, a Chinese clear aligner company, opening its first U.S. facility in Wisconsin. 
  7. Michael Costa, DDS, a dentist in Knoxville, Tenn., performed 1,000 dental implants using the Yomi robot.
