Jim Grant, DDS, invented a rectangular screw that fits better than the traditional round screws that are used in about 80% of implants.
The implant earned FDA approval about two years ago. Since then, more than 65 patients have received the new implant.
Dr. Grant works with oral surgeon Bradley Renahan, DDS, MD, and general dentist Lee Smith, DDS, to place the implants, the report said.
