Jim Grant, DDS, invented a rectangular screw that fits better than the traditional round screws that are used in about 80% of implants.

The implant earned FDA approval about two years ago. Since then, more than 65 patients have received the new implant.

Dr. Grant works with oral surgeon Bradley Renahan, DDS, MD, and general dentist Lee Smith, DDS, to place the implants, the report said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
