Smile Source, a network of independent dental practices across the U.S., and SimplyTest, a salivary technology company, have partnered to integrate SimplyTest’s dental salivary test to Smile Source’s practices.

SimplyTest Oral Health-Perio identifies periodontal pathogens, caries-related organisms and Candida albicans and viruses, according to a July 29 news release.

Dentists will be able to provide earlier care for periodontal disease, which has links to Alzheimer’s, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer.

The test’s buffer stabilizes samples at room temperature, increasing ease to administer and implement the test at dental practices.

Smile Source’s network includes more than 800 independent dental practices, the release said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
