Here are 14 dental industry updates in California, Texas and Florida that have taken place in the last month: 

California

1. Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health opened Fresno (Calif.) Modern Dentistry and Fontana (Calif.) Modern Dentistry.

2. Chicago-based Phase 1 Equity added its first California practice.

3. Emad Fathy Moawad, DDS, was convicted of several sex-related charges against patients and an extern.

4. Premjeet Brar, DDS, and her husband, Puneet Singh Sohi, died in a fatal car crash July 11.

3. Metairie, La.-based Smilebliss Orthodontics hit 40 offices after adding six locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas.
