California Dental Association provides $1.25M in free dental care: 5 key notes

The California Dental Association held its 12th volunteer dental clinic, providing more than $1.25 million in care.

Here are five key notes:

1. California Dental Association Cares provides oral healthcare services; educates community members and policy makers about oral health; and advocates for the Denti-Cal program.

2. During the two-day clinic, volunteer dental professionals provided care to more than 1,500 people.

3. Dentists performed more than 10,000 procedures, including fillings, extractions and cleanings.

4. Within the dental lab, oral technicians provided 125 completed and partial dentures and denture repairs.

5. More than 524 health professions, including dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, nurses and lab technicians participated in the event. An additional 155 dental students also provided care.
