Georgia School of Orthodontics taps new clinical director: 5 takeaways

Georgia School of Orthodontics named Deborah Borden, DMD, its new clinical director of the university's Atlanta and Gwinnett clinics.

1. As clinical director, Dr. Borden will oversee clinical operations at the school's two clinics, which provide patients access to orthodontic care and innovative technology.

2. Dr. Borden has more than 30 years of experience in orthodontics and dentistry. Prior to joining GSO, she served as an orthodontist at Taylor Orthodontics in Crestwood, Ky., and Milliner Orthodontics in Mayfield, Ky.

3. She also operated a private practice in Louisville, Ky., and later opened another private practice in Elizabethtown, Ky., where she served as a pediatric dentist.

4. Dr. Borden earned her doctor of dental medicine degree from the University of Louisville (Ky.). She is certified in orthodontics from the University of Louisville and in pediatric dentistry from the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

5. GSO enrolled its first class of residents in the fall of 2016. The program offers a specialty education program in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
