Virginia dentist Maryam Zarei, DDS, faces 30 months in prison after pleading guilty to Medicaid fraud last year, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.

Here are three takeaways.

1. Dr. Zarei frauded several insurance companies, including Delta Dental, Aetna and MetLife, out of $783,000 between 2013 and 2016.

2. During the time of the fraud, Dr. Zarei would file claims for services she never performed. She also routinely billed services improperly to result in higher bills than justified.
