Minnesota dentist accused of sexually assaulting 5 inmates

Worthington, Minn., dentist Andrew Heinsich, DDS, was charged with inappropriately touching inmates at the Minnehaha County Jail in Sioux Falls, S.D., according to Kelo.com.

Investigators revealed five current and former female inmates allege Dr. Heinsich sexually assaulted them when the dentist was doing subcontractor work for Miami-based Armor Correction Health Services.

Dr. Heinsich began working at the correctional facility in March 2016. After learning of the allegations, Armor Correctional Health Services terminated Dr. Heinsich's access to the jail.

The dentist turned himself in and posted a $10,000 cash bond. Dr. Heinsich appeared in court July 23.

Dr. Heinsich worked at AppleWhite Dental Worthington (Minn.). However, his page on the dental practice's page has been removed. It is unclear if Dr. Heinsich left due to these charges.
