Here are five dentists making headlines.

Mason Motz, 6, suffers from Sotos Syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects growth and development. His family associated his speech delays with the syndrome until visiting Amy Luedemann-Lazar, DDS.

An X-ray technician at Amy Rojas', DDS, practice, posed as a dentist to place braces on a teenage patient.

In August, the Pennsylvania Department of Health found sterilization problems at a Mouth Bethel Township, Pa., dental office and ordered Palmer Cotturo, DDS, to close its doors. Now the dentist is refuting the order.

A Hawaiian state circuit judge found Terry Allen, DDS, guilty in a more than $20,000 insurance fraud scheme.

Sewell, N.J.-based dentist Robert Hofstetter, DDS, was arrested after a patient allegedly found a camera in the bathroom at the dentist's office.
