Delta Dental of Arizona makes $40K investment in teledentistry: 3 highlights

The Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa received a $40,000 donation from the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation to invest in a teledentistry program, according to AZEdNews.

Here are three highlights:

1. Currently, the teledentistry program is working to develop innovative ways to reach community members who do not have access to care. The grant will allow them to purchase a third mobile unit to expand the program.

2. The teledentistry program transports dental students as well as equipment to various community partners. Patients in turn received fluoride varnish treatments, dental screens and dental education.

3. Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health students treat hundreds of patients, including adults with disabilities at recreational centers, youth in detention centers and low-income seniors.
