U of Kentucky College of Dentistry puts dean on administrative leave: 4 notes

Lexington-based University of Kentucky College of Dentistry's dean was put on administrative leave, according to the Kentucky Kernel.

Four notes:

1. Stephanos Kyrkanides, DDS, was formerly the dean of the college of dentistry. According to a university spokesperson, he will go on a one-year sabbatical and return to the college as a faculty member.

2. The college of dentistry has not released a statement about why the dean was dismissed.

3. Dr. Kyrkanides became dean in 2015. In December 2018, he and former professor Raynor Mullins, DDS, settled a lawsuit, in which Dr. Mullins claimed the dean forced him out of his fellowship.
