Harvard dental school dean to step down after 28 years

Boston-based Harvard University School of Dental Medicine's Dean Bruce Donoff, DMD, MD, announced April 12 that he will step down from his position Jan. 1, 2020, according to The Harvard Gazette.

An oral surgeon, Dr. Donoff has been an advocate for the integration of oral health and medicine to improve outcomes. During his tenure, he helped expand Harvard's mission to expand global and community oral health.

Dr. Donoff will transition to a different faculty role when he steps down. Harvard University Medical School Dean George Daley has begun the search for a new dean.

Prior to joining Harvard's dental school, Dr. Donoff served as chair and chief of service at Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital's oral and maxillofacial surgery department.
