A former Maplewood, Minn.-based dentist and federal prosecutors have settled a lawsuit that claimed the dentist illegally prescribed opioids to his son and an employee, according to local ABC affiliate WDIO.
Jerry Brunsoman, DDS, allegedly prescribed 36 oxycodone pills to a laser technician at his practice over a three-day period. He did so without any documentation, the lawsuit claimed. Dr. Brunsoman was also accused of prescribing 90 oxycodone pills to his son between December 2015 and July 2016.
In the settlement, Dr. Brunsoman agreed to pay $75,000 in penalties. The settlement was not an admission of guilt.
