Staff shortage prompts Missouri nonprofit healthcare provider to temporarily close 2 dental clinics

Festus, Mo.-based Comtrea is temporarily closing two of its dental practices, according to a blog post on the company's website.

Twin City Dental Center in Festus has been closed since Aug. 19. The nonprofit MAP mobile clinic, which travels throughout Jefferson County, Mo., closed at the start of September.

"Due to the shortage of dental staffing in Jefferson County, we chose to temporarily close the locations to ensure patients receive the best care when they visit our offices," said Sue Curfman, CEO of Comtrea.

Comtrea plans to reopen the locations at a later date. The nonprofit is still providing dental services at its three other locations.
