Here's the latest roundup of dental companies that have been in the headlines, including Aspen Dental and Henry Schein.

1. Melville, N.Y.-based Henry Schein announced Nov. 5 that it had record third quarter financial results, with net sales at $2.5 billion, reflecting a 6.5 percent year-over-year increase.

2. Boston-based Bento, a technology company in the dental insurance industry, launched a price check feature on its app so patients can compare prices for common dental procedures based on their zip code.

3. Delta Dental of Wisconsin announced Nov. 5 that it appointed Doug Ballweg to serve as president and CEO, effective Nov. 2.

4. Orange, Calif.-based Western Dental & Orthodontics opened its fifth Santa Ana, Calif., location.

5. AM Best assigned Delta Dental of Kansas an A- rating for financial strength and an "a-" for a long-term issuer credit rating.

6. East Syracuse, N.Y.-based Aspen Dental opened a new practice in Ooltewah, Tenn., on Nov. 7.

7. Irvine, Calif.-based Smile Brands has added Odessa, Texas-based Permian Basin Smiles to its portfolio of supported offices.

8. East Syracuse, N.Y.-based Aspen Dental plans to open a new office in Greensboro, N.C., a dental health professional shortage area.
