Delta gives aid to Massachusetts dentists after petitioning

Delta Dental of Massachusetts will give dental practices assistance in the form of premium credits, funding for essential stock and free access to its card discount plan, according to a June 1 news release.

Delta will give a 30 percent premium credit for April and May to those who signed up for one and will offer free access to its card discount plan for furloughed and laid-off dental staff of its in-network practices until the end of 2020.

The organization will also provide dental practices with a $10 payment for each patient visit to help cover the cost of the personal protective equipment and infection control materials needed to safely reopen the office.

Delta's announcement comes after the Massachusetts Dental Society's May 5 petition urging the state Division of Insurance to require insurers to provide emergency financial aid.
