1. Nashville, Tenn.-based SmileDirectClub appointed Riddhi Gangolli, BDS, PhD, to the newly created role of senior director of professional education and key opinion leader strategy.
2. Rena D'Souza, DDS, PhD, will be the next director of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, the National Institutes of Health announced Aug. 13.
3. Lexington-based University of Kentucky College of Dentistry named Jeffrey Okeson, DMD, its dean, a decision made July 8 but still awaiting approval from the university's board of trustees.
4. Pittsburgh-based North American Dental Group tapped Jonathan Walker as its new chief financial officer.
5. The American Dental Hygienists Association named Lisa Moravec its new president during its virtual annual conference held June 26-28.
6. Morgantown-based West Virginia University School of Dentistry appointed Fotinos Panagakos, PhD, as its interim dean effective July 1.
