Former president of National Dental Association dies

Cleveland dentist and community activist Eugene Jordan, DDS, who once served as the president of the National Dental Association, died Aug. 28 at age 83, according to local CBS affiliate WOIO.

Dr. Jordan dedicated his career to providing dental care to underserved populations in Cleveland and East Cleveland.

Active in the NAACP, Dr. Jordan was a critical figure in launching Juneteenth celebrations in northeast Ohio and the Black History Celebration at Cleveland's city hall.
