Jason White, DDS, had a bond for state charges set at $150,000, which his attorney posted. However, the 41-year-old dentist wasn’t released because he was on a federal hold at the county jail.
New evidence from an eighth possible victim who claims there was “hands-on” contact by Dr. White played a role in the judge’s decision. New information was also revealed Jan. 25 regarding child pornography involving an infant.
The judge said Jan. 25 the decision to release Dr. White from jail or not was a “close call.” He said he weighed the evidence with the uncertain viability of Dr. White’s dental practice and the difficulty to restrict internet access. Dr. White’s lack of criminal history and ties to the community did work in his favor, but didn’t outweigh the evidence, according to KCBD.
