Why a Tennessee dentist chose to merge with a larger practice

William Armstrong, DDS, has merged his long-standing Elizabethton, Tenn.-based dental practice with Kingsport, Tenn.-based Martin Dentistry, according to a May 26 Facebook post from the dental practice.

In a letter to his patients, Dr. Armstrong said, "I am excited to merge with Martin Dentistry because they have the same commitment to excellent patient care that we have, and I am confident that this partnership will enhance your dental experience in many ways.

"You will see some new technology added to the practice, and we will also be expanding our network of insurance carriers to include MetLife, United Healthcare, Cigna and Aetna, in addition to our current in-network carriers BlueCross BlueShield and Delta Dental.

"I plan to continue to see patients full-time, and our team will continue to provide you with the same great experience you have always had and more," the dentist concluded.

Martin Dentistry has eight dentists who serve patients across four locations.
