Dentists planning on acquiring practices in next 3 months, per specialty

Prosthodontists were the most likely dentists to say they intended to acquire other practices within the next three months, according to the American Dental Association’s latest COVID-19 economic impact survey.

In a survey conducted the week of June 14, survey respondents were asked, “In the next three months, do you intend to acquire another practice?”

Below is the percentage of respondents, per specialty, that said “yes”:

Prosthodontist: 5.9 percent of 17 dentists
Pediatric dentist: Less than 3 percent of 81 dentists
Dental surgical specialist: Less than 3 percent of 37 dentists
General practice: Less than 2 percent of 1,257 dentists
Periodontist: Zero percent of 37 dentists
Orthodontist: Zero percent of 29 dentists
Endodontist: Zero percent of 28 dentists
