A woman in Laredo, Texas, was recently arrested for allegedly practicing unlicensed dentistry from her home, KGNS reported July 10.
An investigation dubbed “Operation Tooth Fairy” was launched earlier this year after a woman filed a complaint against Jennie Del Carmen Lara.
Authorities obtained a warrant and searched a residence July 9, allegedly finding evidence that dentistry was being practiced inside of the home.
Ms. Lara, 50, was charged with two counts of violating the Texas Dental Practice Act, a third-degree felony.
An arrest warrant has been issued for a second defendant, who reportedly will turn themselves in at a later date. The second defendant’s identity has not been released.
