Some dental practices affected by ransomware attack

Up to 1,500 small to midsize businesses have been affected by a ransomware attack targeting Kaseya VSA, a software management company, according to a July 4 news release from the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and FBI.

The ransomware attack happened July 2 and affected several dental practices, reports the California Dental Association.

Practices should ensure their backups are updated and stored in an easily retrievable location separate from the organizational network.
