Iowa Dental Board takes aim at workforce shortages

The Iowa Dental Board is forming a work group to address workforce shortages affecting local dental offices.

The work group is seeking insight from local dentists, dental assistants and hygienists to discuss solutions to the shortages via a series of meetings in November and December.

Laurie Traetow, the Iowa Dental Association’s executive director, told The Center Square Oct. 26 that the association is working with the work group to make it easier for people to become dental assistants.
